The blackspot yellow rose

The blackspot-afflicted rose I covered twice during the Secret Life of Bloggers Blog Party has blossomed even further:

I'm pleased that the rose is blossoming despite the blackspot; the flower has a pleasant scent, which is almost as strong as the smell of a red rose.

  1. Pretty. :) Sadly, we had some heavy winds and it ruined nan's rose. :( Next year!

  2. Isn't it one of those yellow ones with little orange/salmon trim? Those are my favourites, and I love their smell more than that of red roses. :-)

    1. Rose connoisseurs might be able to tell the exact differences between rose colors, but to me, the main difference is that the red roses have a stronger scent.

    2. I'm not a rose connoiseur, nor am I an expert on scents. But they do smell differently. Yellow and orange roses tend to smell a bit like carrots to me. Kind of a "fresher" scent than red ones, which tend to have a more "parfume-y" smell.
